2unless you spend some time with it  Apr 11, 2010
I bought the program because I also have an old crooked house that I am fixing up. I had a bunch of sketches that I used to figure out projects and I thought that I could learn this well enough to make better more realistic drawings so that I can estimate jobs better. First off, the program is real buggy. My impression is that is full blown pro-edition with all of the really useful features not-functioning. I was trying to layout a patio to figure out how much concrete I would need. I could get the area but ut a simple calculation like volume, is not available. What? Help files are nearly useless because, like I said, it's a truncated version of the software. Good luck trying to find some kind of manual to read. My impression of the software is this: first off, don't get your hopes up, it's not Autocad. There's a good reason why it costs thousands. Secondly, Unless you're some kind of special genius, it's a hard, hard program to learn how to use. It's exceedingly frustrating because just as you get drawing you'll end up finding a feature that you need but doesn't work with the cheap version of the software. I wouldn't mind spending the money on a product that was lmited. It's just that I'd rather know that upfront. Also, have a decent manual to explain all the features and more importantly the limitations of the version that you buy. Me, I'm going back to a pencil, eraser and some graph paper, it's faster.

5Turbo Cad v14  Feb 03, 2010
I am a retired draftsman w/over 30 years experience. My first cad program in 1985 (Auto Graph)was wonderful. This TC program is used to occupy my time in bad weather--helping others--I am 83 now. I have experience with Versa Cad & Auto Cad also. My first TC program was v3. This is an excellent program for beginners and advanced users depending on their needs. 5 stars for my entertainment. TC was shipped in 24 hours--THANKS Amazon.

4Steep learning curve.  Sep 12, 2009
If you used a Computer CAD program then you will probably do ok. If not this program has a steep learning curve. It came with a training cd, too little information for me. I sent & got the training books for this cad program instead, which I will read when I get the time. If you know cad that helps but if you don't you got some learning to do.

5Unbelievable program for $15  Aug 16, 2009
When I worked as a building and structures supervisor, I had use of AutoCad program costing $1200. I have since retired and missed the hands on design and developement at my computer. TurboCad has reconnected my creativity with all the bells and whistles as AutoCad had,
for $15. Can't beat it!

Respectfully

You click Finish to close a function.
POOF
Hours of work vanish......

This buggy rascal will do things like that.
User manual is worthless.

My last software purchase from Amazon.
