Just trying to help Feb 07, 2010
I am 70 and not very fast at learning complex things. All I wanted was a way of scanning text files, like Tables of Contents of music books, in order to put them into an Excel file for searching. I can scan them into Word, but I get the editable text in a frame that I can not transfer to Excel. The clue must be in the manual. I will keep looking.
Such a project used to be simple, but today's software programs are too complex.

I e-mailed Iris to get help and have not heard back from them. When the scaned copy goes to word I can't read or edit it. I have Iris 7, Iris 9, now Iris 11 and I had trouble with them all. (Help) Thank you, Frank
Mediocre in all respects Nov 30, 2009
Delivery was tediously slow (approx 10 days). Control formats are functionally simplistic and almost misleading as to their impact on the scanned image text content. Product might have a value equivalent to the reduced price but most certainly not that of the original retail pricetag.

After reading several reviews on this product, I was hesitant because there was such mixed reviews. But after getting it and using the software, I am very pleased with my purchase. I had some trouble installing the software, but was able to get help from customer service and they were able to walk me through the process. After that, I was up and running. What I was looking for was OCR software that was accurate and fast, and that is what I got. The software does what it says its gonna do, and to me that is what is important in a product. I would recommend this product to my friends.

Horrible Customer Support Jul 22, 2008
Similar experience to many others here. Despite paying a lot of money for a physical product (not a download), including a unique serial number, every reinstall requires a new "registration number." US customer support always rolls into voicemail, and calls are never returned. I finally chose the menu choice for their server products and got a real person. He stayed on the phone until I was connected to John P. in customer support. He gave me the number I needed within 15 seconds. When I asked why calls were not returned, he said there were 5 technical support people and they had three promotions running. Not much I can do now, except vote with my wallet in the future.
